A WORD FROM THE ARTIST
Welcome,
I intend to update this page occasionally to keep those interested informed in where things are going in this ever evolving work in progress. 2010 was an interesting year of challenges and growth and that will continue. Things to look for on the horizon are more comic art pieces focusing on independent and creator owned properties, original subject art and by the end of the year if all goes well a few prints.
There are already fantasy and sci fi paintings in the works that push my personal boundaries. The 'Kelsi' portrait on the main page is a nice example of changing things up by seeing what can be done when an attractive model is put in a rather gritty and faded world space VS an exercise in glamour.
Also in the works is a new thing for me, collaborations with other artists. I look forward to finding out what happens when I put paint to someone else's pencils this summer.
In a few weeks Shevacon in VA will be upon us and a few painting from last year will be on display for the art show and I'll be giving a one hour talk on what goes into producing a realistic portrait. I have never had to do this before so it should be interesting.
